Is 761 a good credit score?

In the bracket of "Excellent" it's a good score. Everything in the high 700s is perfect.

However, is not that easy. You need to have that score stable. You should have for the past months that or a very close score (10 above/below)

Also, depends on your history, but with that score you should not have problems. The balance on your card, will depend on your overall debts and your income.

Thank you all for your words of wisdom. I was able to transfer two (2) balances onto one of my existing cc's with -0- balance. I could have used $14,000.00 of it but chose to just pay off my balances. I am trying to become debt-free within a year or two (2). No questions were asked because of my good credit history. The money was in my checking account the next day to do as I pleased. This transfer was for 12 months at 0%. I also saved transfer fees by putting them both together on one card.
