Paying Debt
If a credit card company sells
my debt to a debt collector and
I continue to pay my debt to the
credit card company, will the
credit card company foward the debt
to the debt collector?

Thanks.

No - once the original creditor sells an account to a collection goon you will have to make your payments to those goons. The original creditor will just return the checks to you with a note to make the checks payable to the collection agency.

So is it always the case that once a collection
agency starts calling then they,ve been sold the debt
or can a company use the agency without selling the debt?
I've been making payments to the original creditor with no returns
even though my debt has been sent to collections.
How would I know if they sold the debt or just sent the debt to
collections?
