Pay down debt aggressively or save money for a down payment on a car?

I have a credit card balance of $4400.00 on a 0% credit card for 1 year. I am trying to pay $300.00 a month towards it to bring it down as fast as possible.
I will also need to purchase a car (used) within the year. I presently have $2500.00 put aside. Should I keep paying down the debt or put extra towards a car?

Depends on what you don't mind as a car payment. Usually they take what you have as a down payment but, I would suggest at least $2000.00 as a down payment. The more you put down the less your payment will be! Good luck in what you choose and let us know what you decide..

i think you should keep paying down your debt, because it will create a good record of your credit history and gradually your debt will be paid off.
if we talk about your car i think you can use your credit card while buying your new car as it is on 0% for 1 year.

in this way u can purchase a car and as well as ur credit record will become better.
