Stolen Credit Card

How is it done exactly, when you report a stolen credit card? I mean, how do they stop the thief from using it? And is there anyway the person trying to use that reported card can be arrested? Like when the card is used, there is some warning... I don't know!

Basically whenever the card is swiped after being reported as stolen, all transactions are declined. I don't know if there is a special stolen card message that is displayed on the terminal or if it notifies the police automatically. I'd be curious to find out as well.

Well It's simple to find out, steal one and try it yourself. Nah, just joking. Yes once I was told that there will be a message something like "Card Stolen" on the terminal, then the shop keeper should phone the police etc...
