Deceptive Credit Card Practices
I'm having a problem with Applied Bank, I believe they were formerly called Cross Country. I'm not the only one. I have found many complaints from people having the same problems I'm having. Every month I am charged for cash advances and purchases I have not made, I am not using that credit card anymore. I am being charged finance charges for these advances and purchases. I am being charged over the limit fees every month no mater how much my payment was. They charge enough fees and finance charges to make it over the limit. One month I was charged $110 finance charge in order to boost my balance over the limit so they could charge me an extra $32.
I am disabled and living (or trying to) on Social Security, I can't afford this. Who can? Apparently, most of the people being ripped off are low income. I have already been ripped off by identity theft, I applied for this card to "rebuild my credit" as they promised. I'm tired of getting taken to the cleaners.
I am thinking seriously of collecting as many complaints as I can, besides mine, and turning them in. Do you think I have a case. This happened before and they changed their name and now they are doing it again. But maybe this time they can be stopped. Who do I go to with this? Do I hire a local lawyer? I made a complaint with the BBB. I'm prepared to go all the way to the FBI if I have to. I can get a lawyer free in my state.
