How Many Credit Cards Should 1 Person Have?
Since I started looking into building up my credit report I've come accross some conflicting information in relation to how many different credit cards one person should have. One place said that you should have no more than two or three credit cards total (including store cards) and the other said you should try and get a lot of credit card as the more you have will help your credit score?

So which one is it?

I side with the 2-3 folks. Too many lines of credit can have a negative impact on your credit score.

i holds about three cards
i think if you apply for to many cards
you will soon found that you are becoming to rely on cards
then you are the slave of the cards
many examples showed that negative card users get bankrupt!

I agree with that... I have 4 total cards (two credit and two store card) and these are more than enough for me.

I am tempted a lot of time by the store credit cards that offer to save you 20% on your purchase if you sign up for one of their cards but I always catch myself and walk away.

I think between 2 and 3 credit cards is the best number to have, with 1 store credit card.

According to me as long as the person is not a spendthrift its ok. But incase you are then i guess even if you have n number of cards it wont be sufficent. There is no limit on number of cards a person can have as long he can manage the bank to give it to them.

Well I've have like 3 Credit cards and Two Debit cards. i use debit cards more and credit cards less, dunno why? Even I go to shopping very less, as and when i go my cards make to purchase something which is not necessary. Well in my View 2-3 cards are more than enough for any person!!

I have 10+ and no problems at all with my credit. It's more about do you have the ability to pay off those cards than how many you have. The problems is some people just get more cards because they have maxed out there other cards.
