How Many Credits Cards Should One Have?

I believe that one person should have at least two, one for regular purchases and one for emergencies. If you have too many you can lose track of them.

One is enough for me but my wife has like 5 of them, she is driving me nuts.

If you take my suggestion then have only TWO credit cards. One with a lesser credit limit through which you can buy daily house hold stuff and the other one which has a bigger credit limit, keep it safe for you'll important transactions like buying a car,home or any of your business related transactions. This way you would be able to maintain them with ease.

I agree with you. one should own 2 or 3 cards.Different cards have different uses.

I don't want to suggest any, but having 3 cards will be more than enough. I rarely use cards, even though i have 3 cards with me. These are only for worst case scenario situations.

I would also want to say that 2-3 credit cards including store cards will do. Just apply for the store card that you frequent the most so that you would definitely make use of your cards. And this is also helpful because you can still regulate your purchases and expenses, and you won't have a hard time paying debts.
