Finding out your credit score

I have heard that if you do the free credit reports online, that it actually reduces your credit score by doing it? Is that true?

free credits report? I'm not sure really... I don't get how that would reduce your credit rate though? How would a Bank know you did a credit report online?

Because you provide your SSN and it gets marked on your credit report, as far as I've heard.

well i m not sure , but i think it would not work. and who ll tell the bank that you have a online credit report .

No that is not true. Every person is entitled to one free credit report per year. You can get this from http://annualcreditreport.com

Keep in mind this will not show you your credit score, just your credit report.

The thing that reduces your credit score is called a credit inquiry. That happens when you apply for credit and a creditor pulls up your score. Every credit inquiry reduces your score by about 5 - 10 points.
