I Need Tips For Disputing What is Shown on My History
I need some tips for making disputes. There is some information on my credit report that is entirely incorrect. This could be due to some joint accounts in the past, but what is the best method to initiate a dispute on a really old issue that you know is incorrect? I don't want to open a can of worms, but I am frustrated by some recent information I discovered on my credit report that is inaccurate and in my opinion FALSE!

The first thing you need to do is verify your CR. Once you've done that start by DVing (Debt Verification) all the baddies on your report. You DV the CRAs not the creditor. Also get a copy of the FCRA at the FTC site. Read it and know your rights.

As for the old stuff, verify the SOL (Statues of Limitations) for your location. If past, dispute also as obsolete. Good luck.
