Need help please
First off I would like to say hello to everyone. My wife and I are in process of buying a house. I recently got a call from a wells fargo representative that asked me a few questions. The rep said since I had a couple accounts in good standing with them he would send some promo offers. To make a long story short, I recieved a credit card I did not want to apply for. I know this will lower my credit score which I dont need right now because we are in the process of going into escrow. What should I do? Should I close the credit card? Keep it open? or should I contact experian, equifax and trans to report fraud? I am so ticked at the wells fargo rep that spoke to me. I specifically told him I do not want any new credit cards or any info showing on my credit report. He said it was just going to be promos he would be sending to me in the mail. Instead he tricked me into opening a new account that could prevent me from buying a home

Man I am not sure about this because I have been told that it hurts your credit when you close a card and to just leave them be. Maybe you should contact one of the credit reports and ask for further advice since they specialize in it.
