Denial
I recently applied for a schwab high yield checking account that comes with a brokerage account. The same day I received the welcome package is the same day I received a denial to offer me the account due to a credit review and they list two words for the reason-collections and delinquencies. If I pay those collections and delinquencies in full would I have a shot at getting the schwab account. I ddin't even know credit reports are reviewed when opening a checking account. I am really attracted to their checking plus brokerage account because of the rebate atm fees. Also how long do I wait to re-apply at schwab once I pay off the collections and delinquencies. The thing that's is crazy to me what if the potential customer credit is a little shaky but he has a good amount of money to open the account with, wouldn't be smart for a company to let the person open the account and see how much he is working first before a decision is made to deny him the account due to credit issues especially for a checking account? Thanks in advance for the answers.
