Why I really like my Emigrant Direct Card

I've had the card from Emigrant Direct for 6 months now and just got my first cash back payment. No points to keep track of, no dealing with airline tickets that I can't use due to black-out dates, just cash to use as I like. Much better. Their 1.4% cashback is the highest that I could find. Pls post if you know of one that is higher on all purchases (x% on selected merchants doesn't cut it) I haven't called Customer Service much so can't speak to that.

The only downside is that they will only drop the cashback into an Emigrant Direct on-line saving account. If you use HSBC, or some other on-line high yield savings that might be a pain. I was already using Emigrant for on-line saving, so it was no big deal for me.

Just my 2cents.

1.4% on everything is not shabby at all. You can get 6% for a year with a Citi Driver’s Edge but not for EDP.

Just for everyone's info, that this credit card offer from ED requires that you keep $10,000.00 in their savings account. Not everyone's cup of tea, but if you can, it's really good.

hhhmmmmm , it sounds good. yes i agree that keeping $10,000.00 in saving account is not everyone's cup of tea.
according to me 1.4 % is good one. because no company will give more than this without their benefit.
