How long to get card?
How long after applying for a credit card should I receive it?

The last time it only took about 2 days but I know this will take longer as it is not a local card.

It depends on your credit history and age, but most of the time its less than a week.

Ok, good to know. I think the teller told me a couple of weeks but one week sounds more right.

Sometimes they take 2 weeks and sometimes sooner like the above have mentioned,

Its really up to the card issuer , and most of the time when you fill out the application it will tell you exactly how long the processing period is

I hope that helps

These give you fast answers
the cards can take anywhere from a couple of days to two weeks to arrive, but the approvals are instant most of the time-- so you'll at least have the piece of mind knowing it is coming-- check it out

Approvals are instant only if you meet all of the issuers criteria, otherwise the issuer has to look manually at your credit rating and make a decision. Sometimes they will even give you a call and interview you as a part of the approval process. If you did not get the instant approval that does not mean you have been denied credit.

In my most recent application for "Chase-Freedom" my application was dormant for two weeks then I got the call from them with some additional questions and the approver asked me if $10,000.00 is enough for me for this card and the approver said that she will recommend my application for this credit limit once I was fine with the credit line, within three days the credit card account showed up in my online access and it took another 5 days for me to get the physical card.

On the other hand I recently received "Discover-More" within two-three days of applying online.

Bottom line - The processing time depends upon the issuer, and all of them have a different processing time.
